24 Feb Lycée Faustin fleret – Weather channel “davis”
In order to make teenagers aware of climate change issues as well as to limit the consequences of dropping out of school, Faustin FLERET high school has taken part in the European project “EUREKA” in collaboration with the Coopérative Initiative Jeunes of Guadeloupe. A weather station has been installed on the roof of one the school’s building.
This weather station which is equipped with a 2G / 3G modem allows to follow the meteorological conditions (temperature, pluviometry, wind, hygrometry,…) as well as 7-day forecasts at the F.FLERET high school.
This data can be viewed remotely on a smartphone or computer by using the Weatherlink application and is stored in the form of tables or graphs that can be used with the students. Projects could also be developed around the weather station with students from different fields.
For those interested in operating the Davis station, you can contact Mr PARAT by email: jerome.parat@ac -guadeloupe.fr
